Late summer in Michigan just got a whole lot better — with the announcement of Sick Nights from August 10-12, 2022!
Bringing together car enthusiasts from all walks of automotive life, Sick Nights will feature three gatherings around Michigan that together form one big horsepower festival. And even better, proceeds will be donated to the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan and Bubba’s Buddies (Degenerative Myelopathy).
Sick Nights, sponsored by Motion Raceworks, Gear Vendors Overdrive and Sick The Mag, will launch on Wednesday, August 10 with the Sick Pizza Cruise in Oxford, Michigan (free!). As well as getting a slice of delicious Detroit-style pizza for a donation to charity, you’ll be able to check out some of the sweetest rides in the state.
On Thursday, August 11, attention will turn to the new and improved Milan Dragway for Sick Time Attack (entry at the gate). The drag strip will be open all day to put your car to the test, whether you want to race your friends or just improve your personal best. In the evening there will be a party to once again meet with your fellow Sick enthusiasts and enjoy the warm August twilight.
On Friday, August 12, Sick Nights will step up big time as we partner with M1 Concourse (tickets at The Foat), the epicenter of all things automotive, for Sick Skids at M1 Concourse! This Australian-style burnout contest will see all kinds of crazy vehicles smoking the tires until they blow on the M1 Concourse skidpan. Places are expected to fill fast, so be sure to get your entry in early.
For those who think they have a vehicle that can show, go, and skid, there will be a very special award - the Sick Nights Grand Champion! The winner will be judged on their car’s appearance at Sick Pizza, ranked by ET during Sick Time Attack and finally scored for a burnout during Sick Skids at M1 Concourse. Participating in all three days with the same vehicle will make you eligible for the Grand Champion award, but participants can also pick and choose to attend individual days.
