Event Details

NMCA's proud to host the Chevrolet Performance COPO Camaro Shootout presented by COPO Parts Direct at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk Ohio, the weekend of August 25-28, 2022. This special race takes place the weekend after the Woodward Dream Cruise and the weekend before the NHRA U.S. Nationals, and features the largest gathering of COPO Camaros anywhere!

Three COPO classes to choose from: COPO Battle is open to all combinations and the most popular class at the Shootout; COPO NA Heads-Up is a hardcore heads-up class for modified COPO Camaros (factory spec and mildly modified NA COPOs will probably want to enter COPO Battle; Factory Super Cars is a hardcore heads-up class where COPOs take on Cobra Jets and Drag Paks.

This event's loaded with special activities and it all starts on Thursday with an optional Test & Tune (additional fee applies) and a free Racer Happy Hour & Free Parts Raffle where COPO Camaro Shootout teams can enjoy cold beer and good times! Friday features a COPO Camaro Shootout lunch sponsored by Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center in the pits in the huge "Camaro Den" tent. Saturday will feature the final COPO Camaro Shootout luncheon with a Champion Champaign Celebration at the end of the day in the Winners Circle for COPO Battle and COPO NA Heads- Up racers.

COPO Battle & COPO NA Heads-Up class racers may double-enter into either Stock Eliminator or Super Stock Eliminator by purchasing a second tech card at the NMCA registration trailer.

The COPO Camaro Shootout offers racers the chance for big money, a custom NMCA Victor award, major media exposure, and the chance to get into the exclusive NMCA Winners Circle:

Runner-Up: $1,500 + Plaque
Semis: $500
Quarters: $250
