Import Spring Showoff
Event DetailsDue to the COVID-19 Pandemic ISS 2020 is currently Postponed. We are actively working with our Venue, Utah Motorsports Campus, to secure a new date for the Late Summer or Fall and will announce the new date once we have it. Ticket sales are paused until that new date is announced.
ISS is Utah’s largest sport compact car event and Motorsports festival and is unlike any other event you will experience locally. We are pleased to partner once again with Utah Motorsports Campus, Salt City Drift, and the Take Luck Drift Team. Meet professional drivers and see these purpose built vehicles up close as well as on the tracks. You might even get to experience some of these first hand by going on a ride along. Or for a ISS first an opportunity for Drivers of ALL skill levels to drive their car on the Track.
ISS is an enthusiast’s event that celebrates and featuring all build types of modified vehicles. From full prepped race cars to the finest stance cars in the state, daily driver, drifters, show cars, street/race cars and everything else in between. When you come to ISS, you will get a good variety of everything we have to display to the public. ISS continues to build upon up the very foundation it was started upon, and that is to have a common interest in cars. ISS is the place to share your build with friends and others alike.
Paddock Parking returns and it’s the parking you are going to want. It costs $25 and gets you parking within the UMC gates on the Paddock the Heart of the Facility with an easy walk to the nearby activities. Vehicles in paddock parking will also be eligible to win one of our 40+ awards, be exposed to the most media coverage, and receive a free roll in photo. Be sure to secure space to have the best parking in the venue and get noticed because it’s going to sell out fast!
New for 2020 is Paddock Parking Plus!!!!! This new option costs $35 and a limited to only 150 spots. You get everything that is included in the regular Paddock Parking. But with Paddock Parking Plus you will also get to take a “Parade Lap” around the UMC West Course at the conclusion of the event. We will also try to have a photographer on the track to photograph your vehicle during the parade lap. (Parade laps will run in 3 groups of 50 vehicles. This is not a race. No passing is allowed and a Pace Car will be out to maintain vehicle speed).
This year you will have the option to add ether a discounted event Tee Shirt ($15) or Hoodie ($25) Or even both to your registration. This is a savings of $5 per item compared to buying them at the event.
Vehicle registration opens on Sunday February 16th @ 7pm on Tickets.thefoat.com/issutah. Last years event sold out well in advance of the event so you will want to secure you spot quickly as it will sell out. With the racing taking place this year we will have fewer spots available than last year.
During registration you will have the option to upload photos of your Vehicle as well as a Modifications list. Although optional we do encourage you to do so as this not only helps us speed up the Award Selection process. But also played a big part in the vehicles we chose for our awards last year. By knowing what’s under the hood or some of the finer details of your build it will greatly increase your chances.
Last year we introduced a People Choice Award Bracket that was very popular and a huge success. This year you will have the option to “opt In” to the Peoples Choice Contest during your registration. The deadline to enter People Choice will be April 22nd, 2020. Vehicles will be evenly distributed in to 4 qualifying groups and compete against other vehicles in that group. The top 16 of each group will qualify and move on to comprise the 64-vehicle bracket where vehicles will compete 1 on 1. Voting is done on Facebook on Instagram. The final 2 vehicles will compete live during Import Spring Showoff and will be showcased at the ISS booth.
Oh, and as always, spectators and passengers will continue to be FREE. And yes, that includes admission to watch the races. Free Parking is available outside the gates in the general Parking area.
Have you ever wanted to race your car on the UMC track? Well you can during ISS this year. For beginners (and all skill levels) the 3rd round of Wide Open Weekends will be taking place on the East Course. For the Intermediate and Advanced Drivers, the 3rd round of Open Track Day will be taking place on the West Course. Both of these race events are put on by UMC and requires registration and payment through them. Send us a copy of your UMC receipt and you will be given FREE entry to ISS as well.
Salt City Drift will be on hand again too holding their biggest event of the Drift Season at ISS. This 2-day event is a fan favorite and you won’t want to miss it. If you would like to Drift your car registration is done through Salt City Drift. Like the racing we will include Free entry to ISS if you would like to compete in the show by showing us a Salt City Drift Registration.
